Assessment

You have to undertake a user-centred design approach to producing a hi-fidelity prototype for the area you have chosen to tackle. You will be assessed on a group report on this work which takes the form of a slide deck. The slide deck should explain the stages of the user-centred design lifecycle that you have gone through, detailing how the design evolved and what you learned at each stage that informed the next.

It should provide evidence of these processes - annotated notes are fine and a fully re-written account is not needed. It is possible and encouraged) to present summaries of each of the stages that you have gone through, without much additional writing - a portfolio summary of the activities you have undertaken, with an a ccompanying narrative/annotations to make it all into a more coherent story.

From a design perspective, you should identify 
1. which techniques you used in the user-centered design process

2. for each, what it contributed towards your solution, what options it ruled out., what you learned and suchlike

3. how the design approaches you used influenced your work

4. how you reached the decisions that you made about each aspect of the design

Note that you do not need to implement anything, though you may produce pseudocode or algorithms as part of your design if appropriate. You may use prototyping tools such as online Arduino simulators etc. to provide examples of how your solution may work. or hi-fidelity interactive prototyping system:(Figma. Axure XP) to show how parts of your systems may work.You may choose to create physical mockups, or to actually code something: it is up to you.

This is a group protect and will be assessed as such. with all members obtaining the same marks, It is the groups responsibililty to manage and organise the work so that all contribute appropriately. If there is disagreement on equal sharing of the marks, then the group as a whole will be asked to produce asiened document declaring what the mark solit should be. which i will take into consideration when it is assessed " may not follow it exactly,. If all members of the group are not wiling to sign that document. then will facilitate a meeting to discuss the split, but' do not expect to have to do this.

Group report

The areas to be assessed are:

1. Report - the document itself (coherence, presentation, clarity. etc) [10%]

2. Process - the process through which the final design was produced [40%]

3. Substantialness of Achievement- complexity and appropriateness of solution, depth of understanding/reflection/analysis [30%]
4. Management - project planning approach and group/team management [10%]
5. Poster - an A0 poster summarising one concept (both if you wish), the design evolution, and the final designs [10%]

You will design two different sorts of solutions to the design brief to be taken to the o-f prototyping stage. One of these will be refined, improved and developed into a hi-fidelity prototype.
